Before Short[k]ut started, Itch (guitar) and Jan (guitar) were already playing in a band called "Unfold".  But after a while, Itch left to form up another band called "Stanley" with Christophe (playing guitar in this band) and some other  musicians. When Philippe (drums) bought his drum set, Jan wanted to create a  new band, and immediately asked Christophe if he would like to join. The basic idea of this project was to make simple punk-rock music, while Jan should be the singer and Christophe play the guitar parts. During the first rehearsals in Philippe's house, they covered songs of Silverchair, Noir Désir and other bands. Then they heard that a friend of them (C-Real) was playing bass guitar and they thought that he would be fine to fill the gap in the rhythm-section. But an important moment was when Mich (Jan's father) arranged a meeting with Blues man Guy Schmit, who gave the band the chance to make music in his rehearsal room. In the first weeks after getting the rehearsal room, Christophe had to work and Jan took over the guitar parts to compose songs like "Believe" and "See me" with the other band members. Because of these songs Christophe and Jan decided to change their parts, making of Chris the singer and Jan the guitar player. During the months that followed, a few other songs were created, but there was something missing. Philippe and Jan invited Itch to some jam sessions that were hold in their room. Then the whole band decided to take Itch as the second guitar player. At this moment they supposed being complete, but then C-Real came up  with the idea to integrate a DJ, and he immediately thought about DJ Ta. The  first time he came to a rehearsal, the result was awesome and he became a part of the band.
