After the somewhat forced split of "Short Circuit" in October 1992 (Keyboarder/Bassist Georges Martin had made a sudden getaway to England), it happened that keyboarder Alex got to know Paulo Mira, an Electronic freak with a preference for "NIN" and "SKINNY PUPPY" in July 1993. He soon discovered that Paulo was a charismatic vocalist and a gifted songwriter as well. Thus, pretty soon, some electronic songs where created whose style could best be described as dark and melancholic. The first of these recordings was to be 'Slipping into darkness', which remains a classic to this day. In 1996 Patrick Kleinbauer joined the band, making the trio complete and the music got the necessary warmth and missing dimension with the addition of his bass lines. Unfortunately, Paulo decided to leave the band later on in 1996, the reasons for this decision were not entirely clear and remain quite a mystery until now.

For many people "Elyzium for the Sleepless Souls" still is the best of all the projects that Alex ever was involved in. Paulo's charismatic vocals, Alex's melancholic Synthesizer melodies and Patrick‘s hooky bass lines blended in just perfectly. There are rumors however that "Elyzium for the Sleepless Souls" is supposed to rise from its ashes in the near future, with the speculations as to who might take over the vocals running wild...
