Concerts and happenings
September 11th 1993: Live-Debut at a party in Niedercorn, Luxembourg, "Elyzium for the Sleepless Souls" quickly made a name for themselves in the local scene, which in turn was to be enough motivation to write new material. October 1st 1993: Live-Gig at the Café L'EVASION in Esch/Alzette. First great success. December 11th 1993: Festival in Steinsel at the Café STEESELER STUFF, along with "Dapple Rose" and "Available Now". Total chaos, first defeat for "Elyzium for the Sleepless Souls". New Year's Day concert at the Café L'EVASION in Esch/Alzette. During 1994 Alex bought some classic analog synthesizers, to give more Wave Touch to the music. Following instruments he used on live shows: Prophet-5, Roland Jupiter-8, MiniMoog. Mai 10th 1994: Live concert at the JUGENDHAUS in Luxembourg-City. Very successful concert. Mai 17th 1994: Alex released a demo tape with rehearsal and live tracks of "Elyzium for the Sleepless Souls" und "Short Circuit". The demo, comprised of 17 tracks, was entitled Collected Works 1992-1993. There are a few copies still available. September 24th 1994: Rock-Festival at the FLIEDERMAUS in Kopstal, along with "Clean State", "K-Boots" and "Dapple Rose". Technical problems and intolerant public, total defeat. November 1994: Start of the recording sessions for an "Elyzium for the Sleepless Souls" demo tape on limited, old analog equipment. November 26th 1994: Gig at the Café VOX in Esch/Alzette. Very successful gig. February 4th 1995: Gig in Café VOX along with "Mental Decay". Alex had founded the expressionist band MENTAL DECAY just a week before with Patrick Kleinbauer and Frank Molitor. Both performances earned the bands much applause by their public. April 1st 1995: Live-show in Café VOX, again with "Mental Decay" April 8th 1995: Wave-Festival at the KULTURFABRIK in Esch/Alzette, along with "Mental Decay" and "Permanent Confusion". The most successful show ever played. Summer 1995: Creative break for "Elyzium for the Sleepless Souls". Patrick K. joined the band as their bassist, many new songs were written. September 1995: Paulo announced his forthcoming departure from the band He still wanted to give a farewell performance. He had joined the Garage–Punk band "Tights" several months ago and had decided to concentrate his energies on that project. A performance was being planned for September 15th and 16th. September 15th 1995. Successful show, along with "Rotzbouwen"
and "Mental Decay".
December 1995: Paulo started thinking about a possible continuation as vocalist for "Elyzium for the Sleepless Souls". He had begun working on the lay-out for the artwork of the demo, and he wanted to give a performance with the band in the local KULTURFABRIK. January 6th 1996: Gig for "Elyzium for the Sleepless Souls"
and "Mental Decay" in the Café of the Kulturfabrik in Esch/Alzette.
Paulo failed to appear for his own gig, and only "Mental Decay" performed.
The "Elyzium for the Sleepless Souls" Demo Everything Fades was officially
released that night.
